HOA Meeting & Board Election

November 17, 2025 @ 7:30 pm 8:00 pm

Please join us for our regular HOA meeting in the clubhouse.

We will also be holding trustee board elections. This year, we have one open board position. The newly elected trustee will take on either the Secretary or Treasurer role.

Understanding the Difference Between an Absentee Ballot and a Proxy Ballot

As part of our upcoming Barwood Homes Association election, we want to make sure everyone understands the difference between an absentee ballot and a proxy ballot. Both allow you to participate in the election even if you can’t attend the meeting in person, but they work in different ways.

Absentee Ballot

An absentee ballot lets you vote directly, even if you cannot attend the annual meeting.

— You mark your own choices for candidates on the ballot form.

— Once completed, you return it to the HOA (by mail or drop-off) before the meeting date.

— Your vote is counted exactly as submitted, just as if you were present.

Think of this as early voting.

Proxy Ballot

A proxy ballot allows you to assign someone else to vote on your behalf at the meeting.

— You choose a trusted neighbor or board member as your “proxy.”

— That person will attend the meeting and vote for you, or our proxy ballots have a board designee as well.

Which Should I Use?

— If you already know how you want to vote, use the absentee ballot.

— If you can’t attend but want someone you trust to vote for you in case of nominations or changes made during the meeting, use a proxy ballot.

Both options help make sure your voice is heard, even if you can’t be there in person.
